During first day participants from 34 countries discussed the Roadmap in the groups. Exchange of the views, experience will continue on March 3, the second day of the Forum when the results will be announced.
EC Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis stressed: “We are also working on further improvements with regard to public consultations as part of a larger smart regulation policy reviews. Consultation is an essential tool for producing high quality proposals and increasing the legitimacy of EU action. The EU also remains an important source of financing for civil society activities. And that is for a good reason.
Civil society organisations are key partners when implementing EU legislation and policies in the Member States, on the ground. Often, they know the daily issues much better than the EU institutions, and can make a real difference for citizens.
